Helping you @ the GSV

The GSV's aim is to help you trace your ancestors.

Don't know where to start?

Confused by large indexes & confusing results?

How can you know if you have the right person?

We have a team of volunteer research assistants to guide your research in the library, from a simple query to a personal consultation with an experienced genealogist.

  • help with planning your family history research
  • an introduction to the operation and layout of the library
  • guidance with using and understanding the library collection and resources

Our library holds over 25,000 titles, including books, microfiche, microfilms, CDs and computer databases; also pamphlets, maps and periodicals. Records include birth, death and marriage indexes and registers, passenger lists, census, cemetery, probate, occupations, convicts, family histories, local histories, directories, and much, much more.
