The GSV is a not-for-profit organization formed in 1941 to encourage and assist people with their family histories. This mission continues today with members from throughout Australia and overseas.
Research process
Our team of volunteers is keen to share their expertise and detective skills with newcomers. They will help you to use online resources effectively while raising awareness of the vast range of non- digitized records available in our library and elsewhere.

The GSV seeks to educate its members about genealogy, so take advantage and,

• Attend seminars, workshops and special library days to learn the tools, processes and sources for family research

The GSV has expertise and information sources, not only to assist members with Australia-wide genealogy, as well as for New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, mainland Europe, Africa, Asia, India, North America and many other parts of the world.
